They were first released in 2008 as a CD insert in the art book ‘Wolfgang Voigt GAS’, published on Raster-Noton.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJust like the photographs in the book, these pieces are early precursors that would evolve in the ensuing years with the albums \u003cem\u003eZauberberg\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eKönigsforst\u003c\/em\u003e into a style-defining, audiovisual \u003cem\u003eGesamtkunstwerk\u003c\/em\u003e (total work of art) comprising hypnotically focused forest imagery and an abstract, psychedelic wash of sound created by alphorn and bass drum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album is now available on vinyl for the first time. This effectively completes the existing Gas vinyl series by adding the \"first\" album, which had previously been missing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cover art makes direct reference to the album \u003cem\u003eOktember\u003c\/em\u003e, released in 1999.
