Rick Tomlinson 'Phases Of Daylight' LP
First new record from Rick Tomlinson in quite some time. Tomlinson previously recorded under the Voice Of The Seven Woods / Voice Of The Seven Thunders name, which had releases on Twisted Nerve, Tchantlier, Blackest Rainbow, Sloow Tapes and more.
Phases of Daylight is more experimental than the works under the two 'Voice' projects, taking on a whole host of instruments, and much less guitar orientated. In fact the guitar only make an appearance on two tracks on this record. Tomlinson creates 8 piece of far out primitive works from cornet, zither, synthesizer, flute, ring modulator, echo chamber, melodica, our, tape loops, recorded, guitar and various percussion. Strong eastern influences flow throughout, as well a both experiemntal and avant garde outsider manouvers. It's a beautiful piece of work. Limited to 300 copies, and released on his own VOIX imprint. Gorgeous black and white private press look to the sleeve with colour printed inner sleeve.
