The Grateful Dead 'Long Strange Trip - Original Soundtrack' 2xLP

Amir Bar-Lev’s critically acclaimed documentary about the Grateful Dead was exclusively released to Amazon Prime Video. To celebrate this, the band release the soundtrack to the documentary – which was co-produced with David Lemieux and Bar-Lev. This soundtrack is a career-spanning collection of studio and live recordings that includes several unreleased performances. This two-disc version spans the band’s career and contains many of their greatest studio recordings alongside several of their most dynamic performances. Some notworthy ones are He’s Gone, St. Stephen and the Scarlet / Fire legendary jam from 1977 Barton Hall concert – just to name a few. “This is music from the time before selfies, when things were more fun and commercial free,” says Bar-Lev. Alongside classic studio tracks like Ripple and Touch of Grey, the soundtrack captures unreleased performances like the mythical Dark Star at The Filmore East in 1970 and Dear Mr. Fantasy / Hey Jude jam at Sullivan Stadium in 1989.
