Executive producers are T Bone Burnett, Robert Redford, and Jack White. A feature length performance film The American Epic Sessions features Jack White, Elton John, Nas, Alabama Shakes, Willie Nelson amongst others revisiting these historical songs. Legacy Recordings are release these original archive recordings using state of the art proprietary restoration techniques and technology. The recordings they made of all the ethnic groups of America democratized the nation and gave a voice to everyone. Country singers in the Appalachians, Blues guitarists in the Mississippi Delta, Gospel preachers across the south, Cajun fiddlers in Louisiana, Tejano groups from the Texas Mexico border, Native American drummers in Arizona, and Hawaiian musicians were all recorded. It was the first time America heard itself. American Epic: The Soundtrackhighlights recordings from the three-part documentary, including original recordings by The Carter Family, Mississippi John Hurt, Charley Patton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and more all restored to unprecedented levels of sonic fidelity.
