Lou Donaldson 'Sunny Side Up' LP

Pre-order. Due 16th October.

Sunny Side Up catches Lou Donaldson in peak Blue Note hard bop form, delivering a warm, swinging set of standards and bluesy originals with real feeling and easy groove. It is a deeply satisfying 1960 session that still sounds fresh, loose, and beautifully locked in.

The quintet features Bill Hardman on trumpet, Horace Parlan on piano, bassists Sam Jones and Laymon Jackson, and drummer Al Harewood. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
