Michael Chapman, the godfather of alternative guitar returns with an all-instrumental album, Homages, in tribute to his influences and contemporaries including John Fahey, Jack Rose, and Django Reinhardt amongst others.. Summoning the spirits of some of the greatest guitarists of all time, Chapman proves again that he stands among them.

A former art and photography teacher, Michael Chapman emerged from the folk scene in Yorkshire, England, gaining a reputation as one of England's finest original singer/songwriters. A deal with the fledgling Harvest label (EMI's "underground" boutique) led to the release of Rainmaker in 1969. His prolific release schedule continued unabated in the 21st century with both song-based and instrumental albums as well as numerous reissues of his catalog by various labels.

In 2016 Chapman celebrates 50 years as a professional musician.
