Opeth have received massive critical acclaim for their combination of progressive influences and annihilating Swedish death metal. These 140g vinyl reissues are a must for fans and collectors alike, having experienced a loving remaster by none other than Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Amorphis, Sepultura), with guidance from Mikael Åkerfeldt (frontman from Opeth).
The records have been cut at half-speed at the infamous Abbey Road studios by Miles Showell (ABBA, Beatles), and all artwork carefully restored by Dan Capp; designed the way the band originally intended them to be.
There are few bands that can or will match Sweden’s Opeth. Since forming in the tiny Stockholm suburb of Bandhagen in 1990, the Swedes have eclipsed convention, defiantly crushed the odds, and, most importantly, crafted 12 stunningly beautiful, intrinsically intense albums, to become one of the best bands on the planet.
‘Morningrise’ is the band’s second album and delves deeper into the progressive/ blackened death metal scene. Available on transparent green / silver / black double vinyl.
‘My Arms Your Hearse’ is the bands third album, a full conceptual piece with each track blending seamlessly into the next from start to finish to give the impression of an hour-long suite, and a contender for Album Of The Year with many publications when it was first released in 1997. Available pressed on transparent blue / transparent violet / black double vinyl.
‘Orchid’ is the band’s 1994 debut album and is considered a classic within death metal / progressive circles. Pressed onto transparent red / gold / black double vinyl.
