Tadpoles first took shape in the early ’90s, building a cult footing for impressionistic, neo-psychedelic rock that balanced noise, melody and a sharp, slightly surreal humour. Following a long spell away, the group are back in action and now work between Sacramento, New York and Basel, trading ideas remotely to push their sound into jazz, ambient, country-noir and shoegaze terrain while preserving their fuzz-soaked psychedelic core.

Legendary producer / mixer Sonic Boom — known for Spacemen 3, Panda Bear, MGMT and Beach House — helps shape this chapter, teasing new colours out of the band’s roaming arrangements and threading them into that recognisable Tadpoles world. This release marks a confident continuation of their lineage: exploratory, textural and quietly playful.
